For Good Astro Turf Florida Offers A Recommendable Destination

By Kevin Bailey

Synthetic turf is similar to normal turf. The difference is that it is created in a factory to form a product that is sold to customers. Synthetic turf can be designed in a diverse range of colors. Manufacturers are today capable of creating fake grass of any color they want. However, green colour is used in most designs. The reason is that there is the need to make the product appear like natural grass. When in need of Astro Turf Florida should be visited.

Blades of the synthetic grass can be made to be of any height. The height varies depending on the function the product is intended for. For example, a product to be set up in a football ground requires a different height from one intended for a private yard or golf park.

Several different shapes of the blades have also been invented. Initially, there was a limited number of blade shapes, but that has changed over time. Today, the various blade shapes in the market include oval, diamond de-lustered, vista, 3D W, flattened oval with spine, omega, mini C shaped, mini W shaped, and M shaped fibers. Each of these shapes is meant to serve a different purpose. Also, various shapes produce various effects on lawns when installed.

Normally, oval shaped blades are used on synthetic turf that is fixed on landscapes. These fibers are usually long lasting with a soft touch and sensation. The blades have a studier soft feeling because of the diamond de-lustered shape. Residential and commercial landscapes can be installed with products which have these blades. Omega blades usually have a short height and are best for installation in pet turfs.

There was no thatch layer in initial synthetic turfs. The thatch was added due to the need to make the turf appear better and produce softer feeling. Around nine years back is when this invention was done. With that, the synthetic grass industry was revolutionized. Different materials like nylon, polypropylene and polyethylene are normally used in making the thatch. In the event of intensive sports games, thatch assists in blade recovery too.

Blades in these products are usually attached to a backing using adhesives and other means. The backing provides strength and support for the blades and also ensures durability. Suitable adhesives have been developed for this job over the years. Backings are also made of materials that can hold adhesives well. The most commonly used materials to make backings are latex and urethane.

There were great weaknesses in the turfs that were developed earlier. For instance, they would fade with time when exposed to UV radiation coming from the sun. It became possible for the products to be coated with UV inhibitors with advancement in technology. This was meant to make them retain their color for a very longer duration.

The UV inhibitors are incorporated within the yarn process. Thus, it does not matter the kind of conditions the product is exposed to, it will still be able to hold color. Typically, the product can retain its color up to between 10 and 15 years.
