Clean Organized Farming With A Planter Drip Tray

By Harold Gray

The fast-paced and commercialized nature of life in today's world has given rise to a practice described as portable farming. People who have limited time and space for extended farming have adopted the practice of planting in containers. Container farming is used for decorative and food-producing plants alike. This type of farming is definitely convenient and flexible but it does come with its own set of challenges. A planter drip tray helps to make portable plant maintenance an easier task.

Planting crops and flowers in pots is convenient for many reasons. Chief among these is the fact that the pot can be moved conveniently so that the plant can get exposure to sunlight and rain as needed. It can also be moved to convenient locations, which comes in very handy when space is needed for other purposes.

Thankfully for many who practice this flexible method of farming, the issue of leaking can be fixed with trays that catch the water. These trays must be emptied periodically though. Doing this prevents the accumulation of stagnant water which presents its own set of problems.

Many of the planting containers being sold today are accompanied by drip trays. They are typically designed to match the pots in terms of colour, size and shape. This is undoubtedly the result of them recognizing their customers' need for these handy planting aids.

Buyers can purchase these great planting tools at farm stores or home and garden supply stores. They may also shop online as many of these stores also have an online presence.. Either way, they are likely to find trays that suit their tastes and needs.

Many people opt to use their creative skills instead of purchasing trays. This is usually a more economical option. They re-purpose used items and customize them to suit their needs. Usually, they can find cheap usable items for this purpose at thrift stores or in their own garbage collection.

Whether the tray will be purchased or made, there are a few things that should be considered. One of the main considerations is that it must be leak proof. It is futile to use a tray that leaks. Additionally, there are some designs that allow the pot to be raised off the bottom of the tray. This makes the dripping or removal of excess water from the soil more effective. Another consideration is, of course, the size of the trays which must be large enough to house the pots with which they will be used.

No one can deny the importance of these water collecting containers. They may seem simple in the eyes of many but they play a very important role in the world of container farming. They have been making container farming easier for people around the world for centuries and will remain relevant for as long as this type of farming remains in practice.
